ZooNooz, September 2006


Summer is over and the kids are back in School. Remember our Fall hours:
Monday – Friday for the first two weeks after school starts from 11:00- 2:00.
Weekends are still 10:00 – 5:00.
So come and enjoy the animals, perhaps a picnic, or a birthday party!

What a summer it has been!
The weather has been phenomenal, more people have visited the Oshawa Zoo than ever before, and we have had lots of exciting babies grow up before our eyes.
Canada’s only Albino baby wallaby, Powder, has grown into a beautiful young adult.
We have had the wallaby, lambs, Barbados sheep, a little llama , a fawn and a baby camel on the bottle. The boys and girls had a great time feeding the bottle to their young animal friends.
We just found out the readers of Durham Parent’s Magazine voted the Oshawa Zoo the best day trip in their Reader’s Choice awards!
We have always enjoyed our clientele, feeling somehow that we ended up with the nicest people in the region.
It is good to know that people love our great, tame animals too!

This year’s project is to revamp our one barn to accommodate a larger heated room for tropical animals. We will be adding bigger enclosures, more glass for natural lighting, and a new heating system.
Our indoor pens have always been adequate, we want to make them spacious and more comfortable for the long winters we get in Ontario and prepare for new tropical species in the future.
WHAT ABOUT NOW ?
Well you may ask!
We are now selling 2007 Season’s passes.
This allows you and your family to visit us all fall and all of 2007 as well!
What a great way to get the kids out of the house on nice weekend days at a great Price too!
