===============
Oshawa Zoo Seasonal passes are still available for the 2007 season, and as of the Labour day weekend, if you buy a 2007 pass you can get the 2008 pass for only $1 per person extra!
http://www.oshawazoo.ca/pass.html
2008 passes will be available at regular rates if you wish to buy a Christmas or birthday gift.
Remember the zoo is opened 7 day a week for the first two weeks after school resumes from 11-2.
Weekends will remain from 10-5 and will slowly close earlier as autumn days get shorter.

I wonder where the summer went!
Keeping busy sure isn't a problem around the zoo; and time does fly for busy people.
The new area that we built for baby animals in front of the zoo has been a hit with the children, especially the
area where the children can hold and pet the newly hatched ducklings, and Nora our spoiled baby mammoth donkey.
It has given us a whole new focus for over the winter projects and by next spring we hope to have transformed
our little make-shift project into something much prettier.
Our emphasis the winter will shift a bit to include making our exhibits more fun for both the children and the animals, more interactive,
and nice to look at too.
Our two pregnant camels are still holding on to their little bundles of delight and driving us insane with the waiting game.
Camels take 340-380 days to gestate so we have no set dates for the births.
On August 25 we will be having a fund raiser at the Zoo for the Humane Society.
One of our volunteers, Melanie, is involved in fund raising for all kinds of Humane causes.
This Saturday, or Sunday if Saturday is rained out, come and enjoy face painting, food, snacks and purchase beautiful
wildlife paintings gone by Melanie and her talented friends.
We have have given a big YES to other events throughout the Autumn.
I will keep you posted.
One of our seasonal pass holders was asking us about the cost of taking care of such a large group of animals.
They are naturally very expensive to care for. We don't cut corners on the food that we serve our animal friends.
She asked why we didn't run an adoption program to help out with the costs.
She then reached into her hand bag and suddenly the Budd family have adopted the lemurs for a year!
The kindness and generosity of this gift was humbling.
We are working on a program now that will allow people to adopt an animal for a week, month or year.
We figure it would make a perfect birthday or Christmas gift for the Oshawa Zoo animal lover.
My sister Karen and I have aways worked off the zoo and pumped our cash into our love in life.
It never occurred to us that our zoo families might feel as strongly.
Thank you!
PS
As soon as we get a baby camel born you folks will be the first to know! This expectant grandpa
needs a good excuse to brag!
Take care All.
